Philip Graham More glorious music by this improvising trio for the ages. They create songs that glide through the air like beautiful clouds. Favorite track: Vagabond (Skin To Marrow).

gz It's such a delight to hear more of these house concert performances, especially ones I didn't see. They blend so effortlessly, weaving in, out, and around each other with splendid intuition. Track 4 is utterly amazing, taking one of the best songs ever (IMHO) and making it anew. Thank you all! ❤️

about

“…and if i make it home, will it have vanished in the air?

when mountains crumble down, will i find you there?”

This album is a compilation of live improvised performances recorded during three shows (in Long Beach, La Quinta and Joshua Tree) during the January 2014 California house concert tour with Steve Lawson and Daniel Berkman.

As the homeland of many of my ancestors, Ukraine is part of my heart.

All of my heart is with the people of Ukraine.

Here is a list of Ukrainian artists on Bandcamp: tinyurl.com/2kndncz5

May we all continue to find and offer one another moments of peace and ease in tumultuous times.

*Album art is a digital collage incorporating Joshua Tree artist Deborah Tobin’s drawing, “Queen of the Midnight Samba” (a drawing of Artemis during a 2015 performance with Urban Desert Cabaret); a photograph of the sky over Northeast Kingdom, Vermont taken in summer 2021; and a painting of flowers created by Elinor Robison (Artemis’ grandmother) in Odessa, New York, sometime in the 1970s.

about

Artemis San Francisco

Spectral keyboard washes and sinuous dance beats set up a feeling of warm alienation while Artemis’s voice heats things further. Over the thump and shimmer, she croons with detached fervor, the music dissolving in a storm of pixie-dust disco until a rude riot of effects snaps the tether and she vanishes. ... more
